29th July 2009

Since the Grand Cross of '99 and 9/11, we as a species have lived through some of the most difficult times in human history.  At this time, as opposed to hundreds or thousands of years ago, the difficulty is not about life and death (apologies if you're in Zimbabwe or Burma, or for that matter Sri Lanka or Palestine), it's about extricating oneself from the morass of religion, confusion and materialism around us all.  The pressure of the last few years should begin to hit a plateau soon, and whilst Mars is still dancing and bringing things from the last seven years to a conclusion over the coming five weeks, I think that the biggest challenges for humankind as a species are now crystalising in readiness for a new beginning, which should be evident by early-mid September of this year.  Certain individuals, however....   will get clobbered even harder, if their progress to this point has been courtesy of other people's backs.  Those of you who have worked hard and taken the difficult path by choice will now start receiving your due rewards in terms of personal growth, internal stability and happiness, tinged with an element of fortune.  I'm trying not to jump the gun here; we've got to get to the end of September first.  By then the hardest of the hard times will be over, at least for a while.  Till then deal with everything head on, be strong in yourself, confident without being cocky, assertive without being confrontational and up front and open about everything.  And - any budding astrologers out there want to have a look at the chart for the very end of July 2010, and tell me what you think?

Goodness! Massive t-square - Mars/Saturn opposition Uranus/Jupiter square Pluto. And all in Cardinal signs. At least the Sun trines the Uranus/Jupiter. It's either meltdown or major transformation or both! It speaks to me of major military (Cardinal) stuff.

Saw a chart for 1st Sept 1931 (compared with 7th August 2010), another cardinal grand cross, Pluto, Mars, Uranus, Saturn involved. In May 1931 Pluto/Jupiter was square Uranus. Article said US/European Unemployment highest, folk lived on subsistence levels & breakdown of western economies. Perhaps this time it'll be a happier scenario with folk learning to live a simpler fairer life especially with Saturn exalted in Libra.

yes, that 1931 chart is a killer.... but the grand cross at that time took place in the middle of the cardinal signs, not particularly significant. The Grand cross of 11 August 1999 took place at the middle of the fised signs, on the cross quarter points, and the 2010 cross takes place on the solstice and equinox points, suggesting that this is the daddy of them all. ... well it looks as if the Pisces/Aries cusp is about in the same water than I am... But I didn't have a peaceful july... I'm an 'early' Aries... and I had a horrid end and start to the week... .. and.. I have/am graftinh hard (not on others' backs) but there is no grip on anything. Efforts do not seem to be building towards something at all... it is just not getting through in any direction.. It is like trying to climb stairs and never getting beyond the second step before being sent back in a heap to the bottom, in emotional / relationships, life and career.. the lot.

What is going on with the planets? I thought that the next Saturn/Uranus opposition wasn't going to happen until September...I had a brilliant start to the week, a horrible day yesterday and today-with a sudden ending yesterday afternoon hitting me totally left field-I cannot cope with much more- having been trashed since October 2005,(Pisces/ Aries cusp) and having just started to feel far better recently, now I am beginning to backtrack again- I feel worried and confused. Perhaps the planets are having a re-enactment of "War of the Worlds".Overall I had a peaceful June and July, but From your predictions Steve August doesn't sound good - help!

In terms of solstice and equinox points, I see this as positive, and cause for celebration as mankind has done over the course of ages during these seasonal points. It makes me think of balance and realignment, an opportunity to restore our natural cycle and flow. And borrowing one of your expressions, Steve, might suggest "cautious optimism". Shamans would ask that we focus intent on this balance and realignment to occur with ease and grace.
