6th August 2009

Wrote the following for a magazine this morning so I thought ‘d throw it into the mix.  The time of August and September 2009 will be remembered for years to come - it is the high/low point of a period since September ‘08 that summarises the last seven years.  For many, the last year has made us either walk our talk or step back from our principles and ethics.  The pace of change globally is at a high - expect massive developments before the start of October, particularly economically.  But this is not about destroying the old; it is about incorporating it into the larger and stronger new.  There is an accelerating urge to embrace the holistic and environmental principle in a more integrated way, and this will get stronger.  A combination of Mars and Saturn with Uranus and Pluto makes this a time to remember, when choices both globally and personally become unavoidable.  The great thing about this is that these two months are the tip of the iceberg, at least as far as 2009 goes.  By the start of October we should all be in a greater state of clarity about what works and what doesn't, and from then on we really can begin moving forward again.

And - just twelve hours ago I found out I'm jumping in at the last minute at the Big Chill.  Probably too late for any of you, but on Saturday I'm giving a talk on ‘Current Transits and the New World Order - a summary of the ongoing world development from an astrological perspective over the period of 1963 - 2013 and onwards, using astrology as a lingua franca for the emerging consciousness web, giving us a timetable for planetary evolution and acceleration'.  I'll try and record it for future podcasting if there's any interest...

Major transits 1963- 2013 and the emergence of the New World Order' at (gulp!) 10.00 am.  I'll try and record it for future podcasting if there's any interest...

Good luck with the talk. I've just received Roy Gillett's book on Economy, Ecology & Kindness (about astro cycles 1984-2024) so it would be great to hear your views too.

Steve, Another site I follow avidly suggests 22nd August and 25th October as pivotal dates this year, not based on astrology but predictive linguistics. I find it interesting that there may be a correlation between the two - how do these dates appear to you astrologically?

Steve, let me reinforce the point that 'sustainable development' or the transition to a 'New World Order' has to focus on the social challenges of the incredible growth in inequity that, despite all claims of progress, is the endemic challenge of capitalist development. Ecological soundness and environmental remedy cannot be sought or achieved without understanding the centrality of our choices of 'world order' in terms of power and distribution of income and resources. The issues of 'Limits to Growth' and population explosion (Malthus had that right!) cannot be left in the shaddow of the 'green movement' or 'environmentalists'... I would like to suggest an article by Mike Davis -(he has also since produced a book - Planet of Slums) - . The article was published in 2004 in the New Left Review (v.26, March-April) and presents a powerful analysis of what we are actually facing. Wish I could come to your talk, wish you best with it...M

Dear Steve, You said a 'pimple on the boil'. Now we suddenly have two prisoners released from North Korea, AND TODAY we have news of our little Madeline kidnapped 2 years ago. Oh, my, perhaps great good will continue for us. I will continue to hope for more glorious news.

Hi Steve; I am a Canadian living in Montreal and so much appreciate your astrological insights. Personally, I am familiar with both Western astrology and Jyotish or Vedic astrology. You mentioned recently that you were not that impressed with this eclipse season.I have to respectfully submit that I do not agree, particularly with regards to the July 21 total solar eclipse. I read some hundred or so articles online about it by astrologers. It was considered by all to be very powerful indeed, indeed, according to some, the most powerful eclipse in a two-hundred-year - or even longer - period. This eclipse occurred at the time of a Super Moon, was very long in duration, clocking in at 6 mins., 39 secs., and the luminaries were exceptionally close to the nodal axis, in this case, Ketu or the Moon's south node. And this is among other contributing factors I've read about. We will see the results for months and perhaps years to come, starting with the transit of planets like Venus and Mars over this highly activated degree area of 30 Tropical Cancer, and in particular as Ketu or the South Node close in on 29:27 Tropical Cancer in the coming weeks. Also Mars, following on its long retrograde period starting at the end of 2009, will station direct right on this TSE degree early next year. Watch for that one! The TSE was right on the natal Jupiter of Iran...there was a great video on YouTube showing how this TSE activated key points including the Mid-Heaven, Moon,Sun, IC, MC, etc. of many countries. It was amazing. In my case, the TSE was smack dab on my natal Jupiter, which represents the father in Jyotish. Then two weeks later, the lunar eclipse of August 5th was right on my father's progressed Moon, and he died a few hours later, i.e., this morning. I love your photos of crop circles - unbelievable!

To the above reader from Canada, I am sure that Steve and other readers of this site will join me to say our sincere condolences to you on the loss of your father. Also your article on the eclipses is really interesting. As regards Iran, I for one am very concerned that some of the protestors are to be made to face a court hearing... The investigation into the death of the innocent bystander Ian Thomlinson at the G20 March will be an eyeopener as well... All these innocent people- what did they do wrong- nothing- just in the wrong place at the wrong time...Justice must prevail for them all.

PLEASE PLEASE post a pod of your talk on Current Transits and the New World Order". I am trying to show others that we are in a culminating cycle in which a mere return to the old order of things is not to be accepted. Because they have been educated to view the world in bursts of quarters, they have difficulty grasping that where we are now is within an arc of activity that started, for some of them. prior to conception. Keep Blogging - as a previous piece showed you know not where in the world we all are. I am a Brit living in Massachusetts. However, I share your thoughts with people in DC, Chicago, San Fran, etx. How about pricing consultations in Dollars and doing them over Skype? How about coming over here? I have two East Coact locations where you would sell out. Early morning thoughts - Blessings: James
