30th September 2009

Re-incarnation from an astrological perspective makes sense in terms of karma, fate, destiny etc, but at the manifest level it doesn't work.  For a start off there's more people alive now than in the whole of history put together, which kind of knocks linear re-incarnation on the head.  Homoeopathic reincarnation, however, with droplets of this life and droplets of that - kick me hard enough and I'll put a week into it next month.  But for now it's the end of September, for me the hardest month for many years, and it ain't over yet.  The overspill runs until Mercury clears its September 7th  retrograde position on October 14th - another two weeks to get back up running again.  And in that time I'm moving house (gulp), starting something brand new (watch this space tomorrow), and still have to find the taxman another 1500 pounds.  But I digress.  September has been a 'monad orribilis' for many of us, and without the help and support of a lot of you I wouldn't still be here blogging.  So thank you all, even the cynics, for your contributions.  And tomorrow?  Tomorrow's another day.

I have always thought reincarnation consisted of us going back to the Source, to be remade into something else- hence the ancient belief that every thing is linked to gether. So I am kicking you.........

ooo good debate, linear reincarnation, history is written by people and is subjective, what was there before 'our' history? where there far more people than we have knowledge of? there are some archaeologists out there who say they have proof that this race goes back far longer than anyone will admit to. And what about beyond this planet, we could be reincarnated aliens ha ha! or move in and out of other dimensions to reincarnate, or we could just be tuning into the collective consciousness and making it all up. I heard a very wise Hopi indian lady who said that 'in this existence we cannot know the 'great mystery' in this existence it is beyond what we can comprehend.' Clearly I have too much time on my hands at the moment! keep on keeping on, all things must pass xx

Good luck with your house move- as to the taxman - here's one idea- how about pledging them any deposit you are owed for your last property? I am not looking forward to moving house- 30 years of posessions-September 1979 I moved here but the things I really want to take with me can't be taken- my wren that visits the garden every January-a robin, the call of a woodpecker, sometimes(but only rarely now)owls calling, the peaceful surroundings, the way the moon light floods into the childrens bedrooms in the winter...the way the sun lights up my kitchen- guaranteed to lift anyones spirits... It is with a heavy heart that I contemplate our future...

When we say 'we' are re-incarnated, what part of us is that exactly? The physical perishes. The mind? In it's entirity? The emotions? Spirit? Can spirit be contained and called ours,eg. a soul? Does spirit automatically presuppose something that cannot be apart from itself/the whole/God/that which is? What exactly is it that we mean when we say reincarnation? Of what? Blame mercury, my ruler. Love you all.

I always thought we may be reborn into one of our own new relatives. Like my grandson who when he was born didn't look anything like his grandfather. After his grandfather's death in 1995 for some reason or other he has blossomed into everything his grandfather looked and acted like. Plus when I visit his grave site, always a big puff of air comes along to blow in my face as if his spirit is saying hello.

What if karma, fate and destiny are not filled within a single lifetime......what happens then? I think, that when we die we just our outer shell and return to the source....to the collective.....maybe....i think about it alot, trying to make sense of it all by attempting to think outside of the box, but that left brain thinking keeps creeping up on me. I have experienced many strange things, breathtaking at times, to realise that there is more to life that meets the eye

God I love your posts. This year has been a test for so many people. Hang on in there folks... it is the fire of the Phoenix designed to make us stronger so we can rise from the ashes, with renewed spirit and strength. Keep up the work Steve you are a way shower it is a comfort to many to know we are all in this time, facing these challenges together, though sometimes it can feel like we are quite alone. Sam x

Hi Steve, About the taxman, why don't you establish a link to Paypal on your site so anyone (like me) who would like to help ease this burden could find an easy way to do so? If you are moving on top of your regular schedule, there is no way you would have the time to do enough readings to collect all the money needed. I do not have much money, but I have enough to send some to my friend Steve whose blog is a highlight of my day!!

Don't frankly know what to think about reincarnation, it's a paradox for me. I think the answer lies in physics which is getting progressively more mind blowing! And yet, while I don't reincarnation much time, I have had some profound experiences that I have trouble putting into any other context. The answers are out there and I can't wait to see what impossible doors science opens next!

Here's my two cents worth. I think the problem with discussions on reincarnation is that no one identifies clearly what exactly is reborn. What is the spirit? If someone does not believe that it exists, then nothing can be reborn. Our bodies obviously disintegrate. To say our spirit is ourselves, makes most people think of their intelligence at the very best, their bodies at the worst. I think spirit is our essence. We know it is there when we feel love, or deeply hurt, shamed, or basically deep inner feelings. Why would that part be reborn? Why not just live once? That would be like saying why do we need grade two? Isn't grade one sufficient? Why not live 10 years? Why 20 or 30, etc.? The goal of living all those lives is to gain spiritual maturity. Think of a Mother Theresa, a Ghandi, a Thoreau? Where does the illumination, the impulse to help others on a grand scale come from, if it isn't gained through many experiences, many lives? Anyway, those are just my thoughts.

Oh I think you'll definatley be kicked on this subject SJ. But firstly, I wish you well with your house move, and your future plans. Each and every living thing on this planet is made up of cells. Including memory cells. What if, at the moment of conception, and the process of mitosis that follows.,that some of the cells contain memory cells ? Just a thought. maggie

Hi Steve, I continue to love your blog and site. Amazing to read a few astrologers and to see how pieces of what each of you have said have all gone into the whole of what's been going on. I've been so much calmer, not so surprised by anything I read here. With respect to reincarnation...., I believed in it as a child. It just suddenly made sense, to live over and over, rather than merely be thrown away after living once. I thought I made it up. I don't believe that numbers of people being here now blow the theory out of the water. To me, we could choose to be here or elsewhere in many different forms, so why not here and now? But then, what else would you expect a Scorpio with double Gemini to think?:) Happy new home! You'll survive this tax stuff. It's all just substance, energy. So don't let it be taxing to your spirit/Spirit!

I just don't know about reincarnation- I think what the wise Hopi lady said is the most accurate- that we are not meant to know( and what an interesting blog- thanks for your comment- it's good to know someone else on here has an affinity with Red Indian tribes). I have just spent a whole week reading a book about white trappers in the Blackfoot/Crow areas in the 1800's -daily life dominated by survival- extreme cold in the mountains, wolves, bears, beaver, attacks by Indians- although this trapper seemed to have formed an understanding with the Blackfoot.... The book however unfortunately has had a very very powerful effect on me- and I have never been so restless in my life- suddenly I feel I can't be bothered any more with 21st century life -it is as if I am suddenly sick of all of it- I feel trapped- bored, spiritually starved- much rather live a life on the move near to nature- but then this is a life that's disappeared... I don't know whats going on anymore- who I am what I am turning into- the emptiness I feel inside only echoes the emptiness in those mountains...

I woke this morning, several days after reading this blog post, thinking about the conundrum of linear reincarnation. Perhaps one answer could be that we can also return as animals or insects. Perhaps this is the reason so many species have had died out - to allow all the extra humans to be created?
