29th June 2009

Over the last few days I've done a number of readings, both cold and on the phone, and what I'm seeing as happening in the world as reflected through people's charts is that the very first signs of Saturn's more positive side are just beginning to make themselves felt.   I don't want to get your hopes up unnecessarily, but many of you who have been under the thumb or carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders since last September are now beginning to see the first signs of movement forward.  Having said that, those born from the 5th to the 12th of March and the 7th to the 14th of September are well advised to get an astrological check up, because Saturn is about to assess you over the coming nine weeks in a way that will sum up the last seven years.  Lots of endings, which in Saturn's language means ...

Current status....   Venus and Mars still together, approaching end Taurus, bringing a boost to those born in mid May and November.  The Jupiter/Neptune influence of hype and spin so strong recently is fading until December, the quicksand is thinning.  Saturn is stirring, and the period from now to September is a time for hard work and sustained growth, but October onwards will yield clearer long term options and possibilities.  The coming full Moon brings a time of unusual contacts and new realisations for many of us, and yes I am being deliberately obtuse about that one because I don't want to get too many hopes up.  A big thank you to those highly intelligent and hugely amusing xxxxxx who sent me the news about stoned wallabies in Australia making the crop circles.  Isn't it fascinating that the media choose to represent this side ...

OK, so MJ has passed over... No obvious transits or progressions to his chart that suggest death, but I do note that all 2009 and especially in the last two months Neptune and Jupiter in the sky have opposed his Mercury, which in his chart rules career, work and public image.  I might suggest that toxicological reports will give the most reliable evidence as to his demise.  He's the astrological twin of Lenny Henry, so let's hope that he's OK......   Time for some self publicity - go here for a great interview with yours truly in a US ezine that regularly carries my stuff.  And I've already made my comments on Iran, but as soon as a political group starts shooting its own people, then they're doomed.  My best bet on the next Iranian revolution in early-mid September.  And I need some ...

Don't talk to me about Saturn...   Found out our flat has been sold by seeing it advertised in the paper as 'contract agreed'....  then yesterday a large dental bridge with many teeth on it decided to leave my mouth...    Not a happy bunny...

22nd June 2009

A long time ago Jim said to Bob that he was going walkabout for a month, and would he look after his stuff?  Bob said fine; stick it in my spare cave.  Then Pete and Gary said that they wanted to go walkabout as well, and would Bob look after their stuff as well?  Bob said sure.  But then Gary said "how are you going to tell my stuff from Pete's and Jim's?  So Bob came up with an idea, and gave them all pieces of paper with different numbers on so that when they came back and gave him their bit of paper, he would know which stuff to give them.  Eventually, Bob started taking a percentage of their goods in return for looking after them.  Pete, Jim and Gary in time got hacked off with always going home again just to check that their possessions were still OK, so they swapped their bits of paper for stuff where they were, and the new owners of the bits of paper went to Bob's cave multiplex and redeemed the goods for themselves.  This is the origin of money.  God, I hate banks.  When you've digested that, go here.  And

Talking with someone this morning about a clip from Contact, and this came up   'And I think that Contact is simply one of the most awe inspiring movies of our time.   But (as today, solstice is an example) light is only the absence of dark, and to have one without the other is untenable.  Shades of grey(s) are problems, but the dark itself is workable with.  The real light workers are those who go willingly into the dark.  And only those who can balance light and dark within themselves can really light the way.  The transformation is not going to be the way people think it will be....  We collectively seem to be going through a cultural end of millenium spasm where there is almost connivance in ignoring the real issues.  Politics, economics, wealth, property, even environmental attitudes and belief systems - you can't take it with you.  Persistently, both religions and shamanistic practises from across the cultural divide suggest the ability to retain a degree of consciousness after death - indeed, some shamanistic practises maintain that preparation for the transition from the one state of consciousnes into the next is the only real purpose of life.  It's a bit ...

23.11 at night.  One day to another, how things can change.  One day the Sun is in Gemini, the next in Cancer.  One day the Moon is in Taurus, the next in Gemini.  It is the solstice, the times of highs and lows, when the hordes descend upon the stones and for a day semi-madness seems to rule the west and south of my country.  The timing is of 06.45 UK time, followed within two days by the new Moon.  New Moon and solstice happening this close to each other happens about one in fifteen - not uncommon.  But add to this Pluto opposite the solstice point and the new Moon, and a whole new level comes into play.  Pluto brings in the unconscious and subconscious element, the behind the scenes and underground, and the subterranean explosive.  This is a time symbolic of the compressed change that we are all under, where the pull between the Plutonian dark and the Solar light is at its most polarised.  Death and rebirth, endings and new beginnings, the transformation of the caterpillar to butterfly, and in times yet to be realised, the phoenix rising from the ashes.  It is solstice: the Sun is ...

19th June 2009

From my first blog of 13 July 2003....     'A lot more people are beginning to say, "I feel..." rather than "I think...".  One of the more obvious manifestations of Saturn in Cancer is the downturn in the global housing market, with property prices stabilising, perhaps even shrinking.  Uranus in Pisces is bringing the technological revolution, spearheaded by the Internet, to the masses.  Witness the riots in Iran and the disaffection in Hong Kong, both initialised by youth.  In years to come, the Internet will be seen as the primary device in breaking down the old system of national borders and instigating the real global community.  Freedom of speech will become the rallying call of younger people all over the world.  Can you hear the oligarchs quaking in their boots?  All of the tools that they have used to impose dominance on long suffering humanity, whether they be religion, debt or servitude, are coming to an end.  And they know it, which is why it's so damn hard out there.  But you can't stop a tidal wave, which is what the protests against lies and disempowerment is becoming.  To quote Liz Greene - "it is not the goal but the effort ...

18th June 2009

The ‘happy daze' of the sixties through to the early nineties has evaporated, replaced by a permanent work ethic that is overbearing and unfair, at least to the majority.  Yet the patterns closing now suggest that out of the struggle and effort comes a pure diamond, the capacity to be more effective and efficient than ever before - ready for the 21st century!  In the early 2000's, Pluto trashed a whole bunch of people, from which they survived only by going into Limbo.  Over 2007/8 Uranus dropkicked those same people out of limbo, either willingly or kicking and screaming, and over the period of October 2008 - August 2009 Saturn is testing and examining the whole of the last seven/eight years for validity and worth.  It's at this time when the biggest but last hurdles are imminent that most people give up.  But if you persevere and make it through to September - ...

17th June 2009

I like to think of myself as a little ahead of the curve much of the time, sometimes by as much as a month.  And over the last few weeks I've been saying to people that whilst they are still as deep as ever in the mud and progress forward is painful and slow, nevertheless there are the first signs of millimeter deep rivulets of clear water beginning to flow in your direction.  But in the short term this is little solace, and sometimes you have to be Atlas carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders and actually deal with problems - either that or give up. This is Saturn at his most challenging talking - it's always darkest just before dawn.  Within six weeks, the restriction and pressure evident since last October will be gone - until then, grin and bear it.

15th June 2009

Three main patterns this year.  The Saturn/Uranus opposition has been taking a back seat to the triple conjunction of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron, especially over the last couple of months when the Mercury retrograde has really been obscuring issues.   But now this is done, and the third big issue comes back into play - Pluto at the very start of Capricorn, the struggle for the New World Order, whatever that may be.  And the next full Moon, in a week's time, is exactly opposite Pluto.  I know the markets, the bankers and the politicians are talking up things, saying that the worst is over, but from an astrological perspective, the 'correction' is only just getting up to speed.  Over recent months, we've collectively had the opportunity to learn lessons from the collapse at the end of last year, and the powers that be have singularly failed to learn them.  Hence, the 'correction' part two, astrologically scheduled to start in September, will hit a lot harder.  And - the Iranian revolution of 1979 culminated with the declaration of an Islamic Republic and Khomeini becoming supreme leader in early December.  The Saturn return of this position is in September of 2009.  There ...

14th June 2009

Normally, if I were to see ten people in a day I would expect one, two or three of them to be in crisis and require hard hitting advice.  Yesterday in Exeter I saw nine different people and was astrologically 'brutal' with nearly all of them.  A couple were truly exceptional in terms of jumping at new opportunites and not being daunted, voluntarily making big life changes.  But the majority were looking for objective perspective and advice on what they were already sensing, whether it was job change, relationship breakdown after decades, new children or emotional health issues.  I find that the numbers of face to face readings I do (nearly 500 this year so far) reflect the worldwide gestalt, and if that's the case, then although the world seems in a rght state, there are exciting new diamonds of chances being born out of the compression that a few poeple are taking because they've nothing left to lose apart from the vestiges or shadows of their old lives.  It is the business of the future to do it for yourself, to take opportunites amd chances and to shape your world.  My ancestors didn't cross the ice sheets so that ...

13th June 2009

5 am in the morning, preparing for the next day of readings....looking at the chart for the moment, I see that all the planets in the heavens are in either earth or air signs, excepting Uranus.  There's no water or fire.  A combination of earth and air reminds me of a sandstorm, where the environment around oneself is abrasive, so I anticipate a day of pragmatic communication, bordering on the blunt.  Nothing new there, I hear some of you say.  And yes, I did get some flack for yesterday's post - there are still people out there who think that crop circles are made by humans with rope and wood.  I challenge any of the sceptics - go and do it yourself, or find footage of serious crop circle fakery, prove me wrong - i'll eat my ephemeris in public if you're right.  until then, try stepping out of your safety zones and feel what your gut is telling you, as opposed to listening to the mammalian mind that is only interested in survival and rationality.  Onwards!

12th June 2009

First we had the jellyfish, then the dragonfly, then the fish.  Now the phoenix.  And please - no more emails telling me how easy it is to make crop circles.  I've been going in them since 1989; I've been in well over a hundred.  I studied them extensively for the dissertation of my Masters, spending weeks in the fields talking to shepherds, researchers, investigators, watchers and amateur hoaxers.  I participated in a hoax under conditions of anonymity and found myself appalled at what are supposed to be professional hoaxers.  I am as good as you get when it comes to an authority on crop circles, and it is clear to me that all of the crop circles in the UK this year are for real, it is impossible for humans to make these things.  The language the circlemakers are telling us is to step outside of the boundaries of learned communication into ...

11th June 2009

As of today, Mercury clears Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron for the first time in nearly two months, suggesting that we can now put our head above the clouds with a degree of clarity.  The fog and quicksand of recent weeks appears to be receding, at least for the next ten days or so until Venus and Mars arrive at the end of Taurus.  And with the Moon currently in Aquarius, I feel that the coming forty eight hours hold in them a number of different choice points, where depending on the nature of your chart either the emotions or the intellect will hold the power, and choices will be made -  one way or another.  Now - go here.  it's from You Tube, first time I've ever plugged it, but meet my main man, my 'guru'.  Seems like we're on the crest of a wave of inevitability, lots and lots of you feeling that something indefineable is imminent.  To quote McKenna, 'If love and peace, sensuality. intelligence, community and empathy are not part of the human future, what kind of future will it be?

10th June 2009

Rolling blog today...  This Saturday/Sunday, the Moon (tides, the shallows) conjoins Neptune (the deep seas) and Jupiter (amplification, upsurge) in Aquarius (the water bearer).  The fishes crop circle is interesting, as was the jellyfish.  Am I being obtuse here?  i just get the feeling that something is brewing...

9th June 2009

And I'm really sticking my neck out here, I'm going to make (roll of drums) a prediction.  I think that during the coming five days there's a very strong chance of some type of event so shattering in its implications that many people's lives may change, possibly forever, as a result.  This may be geophysical, with water, land and fire in interaction, it may be more than that.  Now don't get your hopes up, but I can sense something celestial coming in, probably in about three or four weeks time, at the time of the next full Moon and before the near total eclipse of July 22nd.  And I don't mean UFO's, God or angels either, I mean some type of stellar, galactic or other type of cosmic force.  I'm keeping an eye on SOHO, I note with interest that we're in the longest period since at least 1810 without any sunspots.  That will change very soon, methinks.  And I wasn't sure about this when it happened, and I'm still not - but if it is a hoax, it's a damn good one.  And this Saturday there's a conjunction of the Moon, Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune at the same ...

8th June 2009

The time is coming, both individually and globally, for us to take whatever non-violent action is necessary in order to change the future not only for ourselves but also our descendants.  There is a worldwide discontent with the ruling elite, no matter what creed or party they are.  I want it to be a lovely world, to create through the imagination and to 'dream in' empathic community with global networking.  But the reality is hard - in order to get there whole political and economic systems will have to change.  And this is happening, as evinced by the crisis and meltdowns of recent months, and the astrology of these times suggests that this will not slow down in the medium term future.  I think that the moneylenders may have to be thrown out of the temple again, and whole new systems of value and worth instigated.   And this coming week?  This is the ...

Smiling is infectious, you catch it like the flu

When someone smiled at me today I started smiling too

I walked around the corner and someone saw me grin

When he smiled I realised I had passed it on to him

I thought about the smile and then realised its worth

A single smile like mine could travel round the Earth

So if you feel a smile begin don't leave it undetected

Start an epidemic quick and get the world infected.

7th June 2009

Written about two hours before the full Moon in Sagittarius, the truth bringer.  There were two billion people on planet when I was born in the mid fifties, now there's seven billion.  My contention is that as population increases so does both the technological and the spiritual, in equal ratio.  The emergence of the web was a random factor in evolution, unplanned for, and as the web exponentially evolves and affects all of our lives, so I suggest that alongside it a web of consciousness is evolving, parallel and analogous to it.   Any organism will mutate or die when put under concentrated pressure, and I think a sign of this is the sudden and strong increase in human intuition and sensitivity of recent years.  We as a species have never been here before - it's a unique time in our history.  I used to flippantly say that the future is in the imagination, now I'm seeing that become more and more of a reality.  I'm an eschatologist as well as an astrologer, astrology provides a symbolic and metaphoric description of what's going on at any given time, whether for the world or the individual.  And the choice points for the ...

6th June 2009

It's weekend, not so many of you are looking at this, so I can afford to be a bit loose....  A number of posts on the forum/blog have complained about their respective governments, and how they should ‘do something'.......  Seems to me that the world is the way we individually make it, surely we are all responsible for our own perception?  The way we choose to experience the world can vary according to our mood or environment at any given time, or using my language according to the current transits, but at the end of the day there's one planet, and seven billion different worlds.  Quote - ‘all the world's a stage, and all the people players'.  And you are the casting director at lest, and also perhaps the director and producer of your own movie.  Blaming others simply perpetuates the guilt.  My world, my responsibility.  And as an astrologer, my (mission? skill? ...

5th June 2009

Sun square Saturn today, full Moon squaring Saturn in a couple of day's time.  This is the crunch point at the tangible.  Saturn rules structure and form amongst other things, so if the time since September/October of last year has been giving you grief, then this next few days is decision time.  Cut your losses, let go of those things and people that aren't working then you'll have a lot more energy to put into those things that are.  Right now is not a time for growth and expansion, it's a time of weeding and pruning and clearing the decks so that the future can come in without having to negotiate old baggage.  And - go here, best yet.  Saturn on the Ascendant brings a dour yet practical side to life - these people are born old and get younger as they get older, but they've got to get to forty first.  ...

4th June 2009

Gold nearing the thousand mark, oil price rising, British politics in meltdown, western indignation at anything that moves at an all time high - it could be, just could be, that this is a repeat of the early 1930's.  The right wing certainly is poised, whether through their newspaper exposes in the UK, the jackboot practises in the occupied territories of Palestine or the rabid racism against the Dalits in India, Aborigines in Australia, indigeonous tribespeople of the Americas or the Romany in Europe.  The right is powered by the fears of the common people and they exacerbate these fears for their own ends.  History has told us that the dominators divide and conquer, and the coming few years are scary from my perspective, holding in them the horror of the New World Order, imposed by the upper class twit/bigot, the corporate, the theocratic and the militaristic who all refuse to accept the femininity of nature and seek to rule by patriarchal might.  If only Descates had said 'I feel, therefore I am' instead of 'I think, therefore I am'.    And - I remember......   Twenty years ago today, there was a wave of excitement and hope running round the whole ...

3rd June 2009

Tragic story from the UK yesterday of the eight year old crippled by a car accident when he was one, dying of meningitis, and his parents taking his body and throwing themselves, him and his toys off of a high cliff into the sea.  I thought I was too dry for that feeling any more, but it made me cry in empathy with the unfairness of it all sometimes.  And - go here.  Then go here.  Yesterday I accidentally started a new set of comments with Neptune, so let's continue in that vein with Pluto.  Those born with Pluto rising on the Ascendant have an intensity and depth to them that scares a lot of people away, although it does sort the wimps out.  There can be the dangers of obsession or phobia/paranoia when younger, giving way to an unstoppable will ...

2nd June 2009

Did a reading today for someone with Neptune rising, and ever since I've been all over the place.  Every chart is different, but some are more different than others.  Neptune by nature is nebulous, physically it's covered in icy methane clouds. It illudes and deceives, confuses and distorts, even is some cases weakens and debilitates.  It is the treacle and quicksand of life, the sticky stuff, the congestant, (it is associatted with colds, virals and poisons) and it slips between your fingers like sand.  It is also your link with the divine however you conceive of it as being, your ability for aestheticism, refinement, art, compassion and intuition.  Just never try to pin it down or understand it in terms of the rational or analytical.  It slowly pushes one more and more towards the spiritual and away from the material.  It can be the radiant and the neurotic, and sometimes both at the same time, which is why it is so prominent in the charts of film stars, artist, drug addicts, martyrs and victims, actors and poets/musicians and the pious. Jane Austen, Maya Angelou, Bogart, Bill Clinton, McCartney, Cat Stevens, Tracy Ullman, Prince William, Stevie Wonder.

1st June 2009

The initial energy of June is predominantly Saturnine, with a number of structured bodies (Parliament, GM, Saab, Vauxhall, Australian sports commitees) coming under increased pressure to reveal all.  By mid June, there's a feel good energy around, but the new Moon opposite Pluto on the 22nd will ruffle feathers.  The big news astrologically at the start of June is the exit of Mars from Aries into Taurus.  The urgency and immediacy of recent weeks will slow down, there's a perseverant energy coming into the zeitgeist.  Mars is one's capacity for affirmative action, and whereas in Aries it's feisty and impulsive, in Taurus it's still assertive and projective but without being quite so 'in your face' or dynamic.  Look at the start of Taurus in your chart, see what house it is in, and start the application of enduring and persistent determination.
