The fourth quadrant of the 10th,11th and 12th houses, relating to Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces, occupies the top left of your chart. The tenth house of public image, status and profile mixed with career, ambition and external world projection is where you deliberately and consciously play with the world, how you manage authority and how you keep the world entertained. The eleventh house of group, community, friends and your more global and humanitarian driven perspective brings you your interactive and social life, and the twelfth house of the un and sub conscious is dreamland, where the spirit and the art and the intuitive and the empathic lie, where people understand the difference between being alone and being lonely. If you're born with most of your stuff in this quadrant, you're a teacher, a networker or facilitator, a conduit or catalyst. Those who work more with seven year cycles will relate these experiences to age 21/9 and 52/9, whilst those who are more comfortable with twenty one year cycles will see this as age 63-84. First quadrant people just supply the energy and raw material, second quadrant people make it happen, third quadrant people focus and channel it to the point ...

The third quadrant, the upper right of your chart, comprises the 7th, 8th and 9th houses, loosely relating to the signs Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius. The seventh house is the house of all one to one relationships, whether personal and intimate, family, friend or professional - the essence is one to one. The eighth house used to be called the area of sex and death! Typical Scorpio overkill...It's where you work with power, where most people try and have control over their lives and environment, where the sensible allow power to flow through them and thus become catalysts for empowering others, and where the fortunately few people get phobic and paranoid, leading to disempowerment. The ninth is about higher meaning and expanding the mind, whether through higher education, religion and theology, or long distance travel and living elsewhere. It's where your inner clown lives. People with the majority of planets in this quadrant are here to work and interact in and with the outside world, to be functional and progressive whilst at the same time realising the broader fullness of what they do. If you're more the steady and stable Saturnine type, this relates to ages 14-21/2 and 43/4-51, whereas ...

The second quadrant, the bottom right of your chart, comprising the fourth, fifth and sixth hourses, relating to the signs Cancer, Leo and Virgo. If you're Saturnine and work with seven year cycles, this quadrant represents ages 7-15, whilst if you're uranian and work with twenty one year cycles, then it relates to ages 21-42. The fourth house is the house of the home, family, roots and foundations. Planets here show the home maker in us all. The fifth house represents your creative spark, and most common example of this is through procreativity, hence children. Strong fifth house characters are playful. The sixth house is the house of health, duty, service and responsibility for those less fortunate than oneself. It's where one helps but also where one can become the martyr. People with the majority of planets in this quadrant are on a learning curve, being established in themselves but learning how to interact with others in a way that is not so much externallised as social in a personal way. They help, but more personally rather than globally or large scale. And they need to feel wanted, useful and cared for - in return, they protect and nurture. Whereas ...

The first quadrant - the bottom left of your chart, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd houses - relates to Aries, Taurus and Gemini. This relates to the first seven years of life if you're a Saturn type of person, or the first twenty one years of life if you're more Uranian. If you have the majority of your planets in the bottom left quadrant, then you're here to learn about you! The first house is about identity, individuality, appearance and self-ego, the second about values and worth, whether financial, metaphysical, spiritual, emotional or mental, and the third house about immediate environment, communication with other at the daily level and your social skills with neighbours, immediate colleagues, siblings etc. It might be flippantly said that people with the majority of planets in these houses are on their 'first time round', their prime lessons are to do with the recognition of self and finding their own place in space and time. And not many of these people get their horoscope done! They're too busy living it to try and understand... Very much the essence of learning how to be in the world. TODAY! 13.00 UK time, live! A few pointers about basic astrology today, folks. As I said in a post a few months ago, planets denote specific energies inherent in each of us, the signs of the zodiac that the planets are in show how that energy manifests through us, the houses of the zodiac that the planets are in show how that energy manifests in the eyes of the outside world, and the aspectsbetween planets show how they help and hinder each other. If you've got the majority of planets on the left hand side of your chart, you're predominantly orientated towards free will and choice, whereas the right hand side of the chart is more about fate and pre-determination. If you've a majority of planets in the top, daylight half of your chart then you're more outgoing and extrovert, and the bottom nighttime half is where you're inward looking and introvert. If you've got a lot of planets in one small segment of the sky, then you're a specialist, here for specific purposes. If your chart is all over the place, there's a number of different experiences for you this time round. If you insist on using lots of minor asteroids, midpoints and large ...

Much as I'd like to 'move on', it does seem as though a lot of people, myself included, are still gettting premonitions and ominous indications of imminent problems. It's easy for me to put that down to Saturn/Pluto, still within half a degree of exactness but seperating. It would aslo be very easy to pinpoint the 23rd September and the week afterwards as critical, but then astrologers are always moving the goalposts. Perhaps the best thing for me to say is that it is still one day at a time, and personally I've found that over the last few weeks I've been becoming increasingly grateful at the day by day level that I'm not only still alive, but in good health and in a country that supports me to an extent. Everyday is a bonus is a cliche, but perhaps a relevant one at this time. And whilst I desperately want the pressure that most seem under to lift, I'd rather we collectively persevered and pushed through than have another sudden event (eathquake, 9/11, volcano) that releases pressure. It's easy to take the quick option, but to choose to persevere when under pressure is the sign of a mature species ...

Today is a strange day, but it should be good for most of us. The conjunction of the Moon with Neptune over the coming few hours may bring uncertainty and confusion into certain Leonine and Aqaurian lives, but as we get into mid afternoon (UK time) so the astrological fog clears. And then at 18.04 UK time it's the annual Pisces full Moon, so if it's your birthday close to today then there's a lot of positive and clean endings with the beneficial aspect of the Sun and the Moon to Pluto bringing an acceptance of the inevitable. Time to release. Yes, there's a background M ercury retrograde, but he's not doing too much, Venus and Mars are having their own little tryst in Libra, it's definitely a lunar day, so expect the emotional tides to vary considerable and remember not to go surfing without a lifejacket. The Moon conjuncting Neptune at the end of Aquarius brings the two most sensitive and watery planets together, just before the Moon waltzes into Neptunian ruled Pisces and then immediately into full Moon. So the background is there for watery, empathic, emotional and feelingful developments based around compassion and sensitivity - or, mega ...

For three days I've done little but enjoy myself with what I loosely call my tribe, a bunch of itinerant individuals, incredibly talented but like me more towards the fringe of contemporary society. I played chess with seven and seventy year olds, danced with teenagers, played frisbee with thirty somethings, debated astrology, green politics and the ethics of intelligence with my own peer group - I've known many of these people since they were born, some of them thrity years - I grew up on the fields with some of them in the festivals of the late seventies and then late eighties. After drinking just a homoeopathic half bottle of fifteen year old single malt I ended up compering the cabaret for five hours until 1 am, or at least that's what I'm told I did... And for the last twenty four hours I've been composing and sending my latest newsletter, if you haven't got it then let me know. And as for astrology, crop circles and the dynamics of global events, well, I'm still quite chilled so that may just have to wait until tomorrow.

Sat in a cafe in a wet and muddy field in deepest and darkest north Severnside, along with about 200 other souls, comprising about twenty astrologers plus jugglers, jesters, story tellers, musicians, healers, chefs, toilet cleaners, litter pickers, lots and lots of kids, a fair few damaged souls, freinds, therapists, gate crew, it's that time of year when I go back to my tribe. Last year I was here for a week, this one only a few days - back on Monday - but I'm compering the cabaret on Saturday night, should be a gas, the Caustic Astrologer let loose after a bottle of mead (or two). Not for the faint hearted, but if any of you just happen to be in the west Gloucestershire area this wekend - here. And it's raining - the harvest hasn't happened fully yet. In a few hours time, Venus and Mars come together for the first time of three, initially in Libra, so perversely I expect a lot of domestic disruptions and arguments today. Also in a few hours it's Sun opposite Neptune, so no wonder I feel like a mist and wet fog is all around me. Time to go and ...

You lot are contagious. Last night I dreamt of massive ancient crusted sharks and whales circling around me, and when I woke it was to the feeling of being pulled upright by an invisible cord attached to the crown of my skull, something I've been experiencing a lot the last few days. Lots of different but similar phenomena tells me that something strange is going on, but the imagery is so ancient that it must the response to some type of basic primal instinct within us all, classic Saturn/Pluto... And in just over thirty hours time Mercury goes retrograde. There's a big sense of urgency around, people trying to get things done in an increasingly frenetic way, to little or no avail. If you're a Virgo or Pisces born around the 10th - 12th, then the next few days are likely to be fusing, as opposed to confusing. Lots of static. And Venus and Mars are together today and tomorrow, again affecting everyone born around the 4th-5th of their month. Very physical time, so get down the gym (or in the bedroom) and exert yourself... It's not quiet out there!

I figured it was just me, but I've realised that loads and loads of people have been having not just premonitiions but genuine felings of impending death. Big word, I know, and I got seduced by that feel when I was predicting big explosions in Pakistan at the start of August. Only got that one half right... Yesterday's replies about mortatlity made me think, and I realised that since last November, we've been under the influence of the Saturn/Pluto square (ending in about a week), and Saturn, sometimes AKA the Grim Reaper with his skeleton and scythe, mixed with Pluto, representing Hades, the dark and the unknowable, brings out primal fear of endings in us all. Death and rebirth, the one constant in our lives. I will be so delighted to see the back of this year....

Talking to a regular client last night who's sending out job applications, having prevaricated for months. With Mercury going retrograde in a couple of days time, anything initiated now will not bring clear results until mid September, if not the end of the month. Nevertheless, today is excellent for throwing fishing lines into the future with an idea of reeling them back in with their catch in about 6-7 weeks time. There's a beautiful Moon in Sagittarius all day, a sense of superficial optimism will take the hardest of edges off of ongoing troubles. I find myself thinking a lot recently about mortality, both at the personal and global level, but then I realise that Saturn is only half a degree away from finally squaring Pluto for the final time for fifteen years and that's (probably) what I'm picking up on. It's as though we're on a transport system that's pulling into a terminus where we can change our body armour from heavy to light. I know that this sounds crazy bearing in mind what's going on in the world and in personal lives, but I really do feel that the very worst is over, or at least by the ...

That was nice, that someone said yesterday - 'to master the impossible, to trust ourselves without judging others'. Wonderful. Brief blog this morning, got to generate some work... Sun in the sky opposing Neptune, now and for the next four or five day. Those of you who have been through the treacle and quicksand, the fog, mist and cloud over this last year are at some type of crunch point - things will now either start permanently slipping away, or else will begin once again to consolidate. Neptune is weird - the more you try and hang on to things or people, the more. like sand and water, they slip between your fingers. So those born from the 14th-17th February and the 18th-21st August are best advised not to make any important decisions this week around growth and expansion. By all means release and let go, but don't go for gain - it's not the right time.

I'm a human who happens to be an astrologer, not the other way round. Much as I try, i can't be totally objective, my personal ethics and morals do influence the way I see the world. And seeing as I've been dead flesh free for over thirty years, I have my own axe to grind. The torture and abuse of animals to increase meat size so that we can eat their flesh cheaply is the single biggest sign of human arrogance and complacency. I'm not anti - carnivore, I know that some people need to eat meat - but they are the exception, not the rule, and the intelligent ones eat organic, quality not quantity. We're the only species that doesn't need to eat meat that does so, and with factory farming we not only torture animals we also poison ourselves. And eating crap food full of hormones and fear screws your digestion and brings cancer illness unhappiness. And now government advice is to eat a statin pill alongside your burger and chips and cola so as to minimise heart disease. And who benefits? The agro-chemical industry, the drug companies and the processed food manufacturers. On ...

Well that's that then. We're through the Grand Cross and the most intense moment of the line up, although the long term conclusions aren't until 2013. We're still here and what's changed? Well, from what I see and hear it's as though fences have come down, and things are or they aren't, both personally and globally. It's as though hardware surgery has occured in the last two weeks and now the wound is closing. Saturn still has to complete square to Pluto over the next week or so, immediately followed by a Mercury retrograde till mid September, so don't bank on making sense or getting clarity on what's recently happened until then. Increasingly I'm seeing Mercury retrograde making its effects felt a good week or so before the actual event - i.e. now - but this particular M Rx doesn't concern me too much - it's not affecting any of the other planets in challenging ways, it's in Virgo where Mercury is quite comfortable and therefore I suggest that it's a bit like an anaesthetic for three weeks whilst the bruising and scars from the aforementioned surgery seal themselves. And once the wound is sealed, then the healing can begin. ...

I take no pride in forecasting tragedy, but nevertheless a qualified thank you to those astrologers who emailed me in the last few days about the accuracy of my recent predictions for Pakistan. Now - let's try the same way of getting rid of that murdering thug Mugabe, yes? Anyway, that's an aside. I've been doing readings for so many years now that I'm developing new ways of interpreting charts that don't follow old text book doctrine - I'm forging new ground, particularly regarding the influence of Vesta, Ceres and to a lesser extent Juno. Although what texts that there are talk of Ceres as the nurturer and Vesta as the idea of focus, I see them both as very influentially representative of the interaction betwen nerves and digestion, betwen nutrition and self respect and between focus and protection. I'm not a doctor, dietician or nutritionist and if I go diagnosing health situations I get into trouble with the law, but some things are blatantly obvious. With the coming rage of virals (or age of viral?) the idea of having a chemical free life with good nutrition and diet and a GOOD IMMUNE SYSTEM becomes more important. And Ceres has ...

Moon in early Virgo, approaching Venus, Saturn and Mars - the astronomical intensity of the last two weeks is now coming to its end, although the coming 48 hours are still 'iffy'. I've just been writing forecasts for both September and October, as well as starting on 2011, and the feeling is that of having plateau'd, as though July and August have been 'accelerators' and as we get into the last four months of the year so we get the chance to stabilise and even recharge in readiness for January and the movement of both Jupiter and Uranus into Aries proper. It's a safe bet to say that children born over the last two weeks will have major roles to play in humanity's development in a few decades time.
9th August 2010
Eleven hours until new Moon, and for me, this new Moon brings to an end a cycle of eleven years that has seen more concentrated transformation than could ever have been dreamt of before, it has redefined the future, both globally and personally. And whilst the coming years will have further profound changes in them, the 'hardwiring' of the future has now been completed. It's an inspirational new Moon, anything novel, original and futuristic begun under its auspices should work out well. It's taking place within a degree of the new Moon total solar eclipse on the 11th August 1999, which was the start of the intensity, and now we launch into a higher orbit, out of the gravity and density well and into a more refined environment. For years I've fretted about early August 2010, so to see the comments and contributions on the blog of the last ten days or so fills me with hope and inspiration, makes me realise I'm not alone. I'm not after the mass market end of astrology, I want the intelligent end of the spiritualist and environmentalist movement, and it seems that I've got the cream of the crop with you lot. Many ...

Had a long journey last night to Southampton to see some freinds of more than thirty years, we went to see Seize the Day, performing in an active Christian church, singing about GMO's , the anti nuclear movement, the anti road protests, how to do non violent direct action with a sense of humour and a tube of superglue, the continuing state of both Palestine and Guantanamo, human genetic engineering and how flying is a climate crime. Really inspirational stuff, made me remember why I'm here and why I'm doing what I am - over the years I've become a bit of a serial protestor . But a timely reminder, bearing in mind ongoing developments up there. Although Mars is now pulling away, Venus is on top of Saturn in a few hours, opposite Jupiter tomorrow and square Pluto on Tuesday (it's also the day of the new Moon), so the pace continues, it's just that the emphasis becomes more Venusian receptive as opposed to Martian projective. And at the end of the crop circle season in the UK, a little reminder of the beauty in the unknown and unknowable. Go here.
6th August 2010
In less than twenty four hours, Venus moves into Libra, the Moon moves into Cancer and the much heralded Grand Cross will be upon us. Despite being a long term proponent of these times, I feel delightfully ambivalent and surprisingly clear. Because of this, my shields are coming down. Now as many of you know and as I stated yesterday in a blog reply, i'm a sensitive kind of guy. Attributes such as 'surgeon', 'rottweiler' or 'bulldozer' are wide of the mark, you all know that I like nothing more than a bit of aromatherapy, biscuits with my cocoa and to be consoled by the soothing words of that nice Mr. Cameron O'bama. Nevertheless I have been chosen by their ladyships the Descended Mistresses to convey their message to humanity. After meditating on the three dimensional circular lay of the bindweed in my potato patch, I suddenly realised what they were trying to say, and on behalf of the Duchess of Euphoria, the Crown Princess of Bliss and the Queen Mother of Enlightenment and Rapture, and on the eve of the Grand Cross, I pronounce thus: ''Oi!!! You Lot!!! Will you stop Looking for someone else to Blame! No Gods, ...
5th August 2010
If you're fortunate enough to have clear skies in the early evening over the coming few days, you should see something quite unusual. For about an hour or two after sunset it's possible to see Venus, Mars and Saturn all clearly, and even Mercury if you know where to look. And as they set in the west about 9.30 pm, so Jupiter and Uranus rise in the east. Jupiter is easy to spot, twice the size of a normal star, but if you've got good magnification then just under Jupiter is a bright blue spot - that's Uranus. Venus, Saturn and Mars are very bright and visible within a few degrees of each other in the dark blue of sunset twilight in the west around 8.30-9pm (further north and about 20º closer to the horizon you may catch a glimpse of Mercury). They are all very close together, Mars is at the top, then to the right Saturn then down to the right is Venus. As to the meaning of this line up - well, I've spent so many years pontificating about it that I'm strangely numb now, right in the heart of the alchemical fire. I feel like a ...

Experiential astrology here folks.... I'm doing more 'in-depth' readings now than at any time in my life, every day I learn something new. Certain qualities in people arise more commonly at times of strong planetary interaction, and increasingly i'm developing a new formula for what's going on. Majoritively (?) it seems to be a four year influence, which we're two and a half years through, and it goes something like this: 'Pluto hammered you in 2008/9, bringing in deep and challenging circumstances that trashed you one way or another, whether by external opposition or self sabotage. From October '09 to August '10, Saturn gets involved and makes you cut your losses down to bare bones and be almost savage in the weeding and pruning. From June 2010 Jupiter and Uranus come in, the 'new deal', full of promise but where's the beef? By the Equinox the peaks have passed, and you've got a few months to put yourself back together again, before end January to early April, when the new beginnings really take off. Theoretically, after this four year period ending in early 2012 you'll be sharper and more focussed than ever before and truly aware of your capabilities, in ...
2nd August 2010
For months if not years I've been writing about the times at the end of July and start of August 2010 and often have mentioned the name Pakistan in the same breath. On the one hand I'm pleased that there's not been the type of explosion that I feared but on the other hand I see the recent large loss of life due to the floods as highly symbolic. And of course, it's not over yet. In five days time the Moon moves into Cancer, making a Grand Cross in the heavens, closely followed by a new Moon on the 10th that's also hugely important in the way of closing doors and opening others. i'm heartened by the stories I read on the blog, they make me realise that I'm relatively sane. More than a few have suggested that the 'itchy ears' phenomenon is the equivalent of humanity's cats whiskers, but on a psychic level, that we're picking up on something long anticipated and now imminent. What wonderful days we live in - once it's all calmed down come mid September will we miss the buzz? Now - here's a couple of words that will become increasingly important over the ...
1st August 2010
Forecasts and videos for August are now up... today it all begins, it's the start of the rest of your life. I dreamt about the musical crop formations last night, wish I could remember it clearly... This coming week: the word is definitely subterranean, methinks. For the next few days at least it's Mars opposite Jupiter, both squaring Pluto. Mars energising and amplifying Jupiter's already large capacity for growth and action, and with both squaring Pluto it's clear that something is going on big time either deep down in the undergrowth or behind the scenes in some way - expect quite dramatic news sometime in the next 72 hours... And I love the Clinton family (bang! that's the sound of half my American audience closing the door...) but what a lousy day to get married. I mean good luck, but with Mars opposite Uranus and conjunct Saturn it will be feisty. And the Moon is still in Aries today, so I think that the fast and the explosive are still in town - not a good day to drive too fast. Oh yes - three people in the last two days have said the same now - what is this ...
