I wrote a paper on "An examination of the phenomenon of "human abduction" pre - 1946 in relation to contemporary models", subtitled "Where do fairies come from."  If anyone's interested, I'll mail it to them, it's my first academic paper, full of errors but raw with passion.  The Faer folk live in unity with nature, the planet, the heavens and the cosmos.  It's humanity that's out of touch.  Materially engrossed, we have become sensation slaves.  We have become empiricists and rationalists par excellence.  We have become Borg.  So believe the tabloids, if you wish.  It's relatively safe; you're part of what passes for normal.  There are, however, other ways of being...............

If the truth can be told so that it can be ...

So that was the Libra full Moon...  I kind of blinked and missed it - the first new or full Moon of the year that I'm not concerned about!  Go here for an interesting encounter with Saturn.  FLASHBACK - I wrote this for my blog on February 2004.  'In contemporary times, the single most shattering and transformational event I have ever seen from an astrological level has to be the Grand Cross total solar eclipse of 11th August 1999.  This occurred in the middle of the fixed signs, on or close to 15 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.  These points refer to the eightfold path, being the dates respectively of Beltane, Lammas, Samhain and Imbolc.  These points are halfway between the equinox and solstice points on the Sun's journey around the heavens.  I find it fascinating and somewhat disturbing to note that the mega Grand Cross of August 2010, which I feel is going to have worldwide repercussions, is taking place on or around 0 ...

Aaaarghhh   argh..  arghhh, absolutely shattered, what a great great show at the weekend....  So many people, it all blurred into a haze at the end and now it's download time...  A new gig list will be up sometime this week, and hopefully by tomorrow I'll be able to write a better blog for the week.  But today - oh, today.  As I write, 10.35 am UK time, the Moon is exactly opposite Uranus and will conjunct Saturn over the next four hours, and square Pluto later today.  To my mind this suggests that today is a snapshot of both recent and forthcoming restructuring, and that any experiences today of a limiting, disruptive or disempowering nature are clear indicators both of the challenges faced long term but also perhaps how you're going about things the wrong way.  Whereas the more today is a reflection of initial struggle and persistent hard work leading to new boundaries and personal rules, the rosier the future looks.  Is it the 'poor me' syndrome, or is it you saying 'hmm... how can I turn this to my advantage'?  And it's today, just for next twenty or so hours.  Tomorrow's a new day, pressure will be off.

There are more people alive now than in the whole of history put together, which kind of knocks linear reincarnation on the head.  But the feeling of life before birth and life after death is part of our human gnosis, our intuitive primal faith.  And I know that I've always had some type of trace memories of past lives - obviously impossible from a linear space/time perspective.  But here's a thought.  What if, instead of past lives as in dying and being reborn, we all had homoeopathic traces of many, many different lives?  Droplets of this life, droplets of that life........  Western astrology has learnt from its Indian counterpart at least with regard to the introduction of Karma, via the North Node in the horoscope.  Whilst whole books have been written on the subject, the South Node by sign, house and aspect is where life is naturally easy, where you automatically gravitate towards, ...

UPDATE 09.01 UK time - within the hour the Moon leaves Cancer and enters Leo, immediately conjuncting Mars, lasting for the next ten hours.  Again, a potentially explosive day but also a day where with self discipline and clear intent major restucturing and refinement can occur. UPDATE OVER.  My website is nearly ten years old; the blog section only sixteen months.  But in that time the blog (that's YOU) has taken on a life of its own.  It's as though the blog has become my counsellor, mentor, therapist and spiritual advisor, a window on the world that brings me a vast range of opinion and feeling.  I've realised that like me, most of the contributors are highly dissatisfied with what passes for intelligent behaviour and also like me are looking for greater meaning and depth in the world around them than is commonly perceivable.  The blog has taken on a life of its own, I only feed it the refined produce of the readings of recent days, and the ongoing collective gestalt as I see it.  But it's led me into some strange but wonderful interactions with others, most of whom I feel that I know really well even though ...

Seems I'm a left wing loony, a right wing fascist and a homophobe, and that's just this week.......   sigh.....  but everyone has a voice.  I will continue to publish almost every comment except the rabid and truly offensive, free speech is a fundemental even if I think that some of you are wrong...  The same energy as yesterday is still around, and will be for another 48 hours, but there's a difference.  Yesterday was spittingly feisty, and whilst today and tomorrow have the same energy patterns they also have an added extra for those few wise enough to look for it - self discipline.  Mars is acting as a brake for both the Sun and Saturn, and if you can swallow your immediate impulse to do others a lifetime favour by throttling them and putting them out of their misery you can see that by riding the wave of action with both intent and self discipline you can rise out of anger and use your energy in a much more focused and concentrated way.  It's a count to ten time for most of us.....  there's a lot of fire energy out there now, and it's going to get stronger tomorrow ...

UPDATE 08.42am...  Just seen the Grand Cross in today's chart between Saturn, the Sun, Pluto and the Moon.  Today is a stinker, at least until about 14.00 UK time, so avoid confrontation...  UPDATE OVER.  Mish mash today...courtesy of Beth from the Rockies: You go in search of your destiny, Fate comes looking for you.  You embrace your destiny, You accept your fate.  You have a date with destiny, Fate implies that all is already known.  Destiny is possibility, Fate is probability.  Fate is finite, Destiny eternity.  Fate is what you endure, Destiny is what you engender.  Ah, semantics.  Flashback to December 2003 - 'Feels like I'm out of time figuratively and literally.  Feels like I'm on the point of remembering some vast truth that I forgot when I was born.  Feels like the veil is slipping.  Feels like the matrix.  Feels like invulnerability.  Feels deep, and dark.  Just gibberish.  My hovercraft is full of eels.  Six kettles of fish please, vicar.  One by one, the penguins are stealing my sanity'.    And to leave you today, this:  'There's never been a good war or a bad peace' Benjamin Franklin,   11 September 1783

22nd March 2010

In the last two days the Sun has moved over the Equinox point into Aries.  As soon as it did this, the Sun opposed Saturn, trined Mars and is still squaring Pluto.  This suggests that within the last 48 hours there's a new dynamic in town, and over the last two days people have suddenly becoming more proactive.  I suggest that this is a representative time of a greater push for personal empowerment as a precursor for greater community interaction, perhaps as shown by yesterday's events in the USA.  For a nation to care for its people regardless of cost, race, wealth or religion is a fundamental human right and the mark of a civilised people.  This coming week, the main astrological theme is that of personal action, with Mars moving forward finally in Leo, and the Sun, Mercury and Venus all in Aries.  Fiery, active and dynamic.  But for the medium term - watch the starting four month conjunction of Ceres and Pluto, just beginning in early Capricorn.  It's the one thing that could change everything - food supply and distribution.

Those of you who know my writings are aware that I am no fan of organised religion, that for decades I have said that any priest, imam or rabbi who says that you can only talk to God though them is living in the past.  And now we have the situation where it seems that we have fed our children to perverted paedophile priests.  Catholic Christianity, Islam and Hebraism all promote mysoginistic attitudes towards both women and children, and in Catholicism at least their priests must stay celibate and single. This is the end of religion.  We cannot have priests buggering and raping our children on the one hand whilst preaching to the rest of us on the other.  Time for a new theology, one based on our own experiences and links with the divine.  No more Gods, only spirit.  And here's an interesting question - why has there been little if any reaction from the forces of law and order?  Why are the priests protected?  Put these sicko perverts where they belong - incarceration for the rest of their life.  And if we must have religion and priests, then let them marry and have children so that they fit ...

Enough of you have asked me for my opinion on retrograde planets, so here goes.  No planet moves backwards.  It's just that sometimes the Earth is on the same side of the Sun as other planets that are moving at a different speed to us.  It's like being in an express train overtaking a commuter train going in the same direction.  Certainly having an inner planet (Mercury, Venus, Mars) retrograde in a sign of the zodiac is related to living the life experience denoted by the planet and sign in a way that is "out of time", compared to if the planet was moving forward.  Any retrograde planet in a house indicates that the lessons of that house are to be learnt internally, through reflection and retrospective analysis, unlike planets which are not retrograde, where events or actions are learnt and experienced in a more external and demonstrable way.  If you've got lots ...

UPDATE:  My personal nemesis last September was my critical mass with the taxman, as many of you know.  Since then business has stabilised with a three/four percent profit on last year.   Many people helped me out at that time, and I want to repay them.  So I'm asking regular readers for ideas.  Daily forecasts by subscription?  Weekly email personal forecasts?  E-books on micro payments?  Ideas welcome. UPDATE  FINISHED   The symbols for the planets are a mixture of circle, crescent, cross, line and dot --with the exception of Chiron, for which a "k" rising out of a circle or heart is used, looking like a key.  I prefer to stick with tradition, and I use the upwardly turned crescent on top of the cross on top of the circle.  The circle stands for soul, complete and unique, the crescent for spirit, open to the universal energy, and the cross for matter and the material world.  Chiron is the wounded healer, so it makes sense to me that to join soul and spirit, we must do it through matter.  Look at the house and aspects of Chiron in your chart.  Stop being fluffy in this area and deal with challenges in ...

I sort of gave up on conspiracy theories a few years ago, preferring instead to see things as a combination of synchronicity and incompetence.  That's not to say that I think 9/11 was carried out by a bunch of cave dweling fanatics, or that I believe the spin of day to day governance.  The thing that changed it for me was when I realised that the internet, and the giant sprawling interface that it has become, was random.  It wasn't planned or predicted except by the sci-fi and cyber punk writers, it isn't 'controlled' by any group or party, it is an independent entity.  With so many rogue servers it is impossible to close down.  We have Artifical Intelligence.  To my mind the internet is a precursor of what is about to suddenly develop - a world wide web, but of consciousness and empathy and compassion and intuition as opposed to share deals, porn and spam.  Because if these things aren't part of the human future, what kind of future will it be?  And it's now that will be seen as the moment, now being the first eight months of 2010.  At least, that's my interpreatation of the current astrological ...

15th March 2010

Because the Earth is tilted at twenty-three and a half degrees, the Ascendant's duration in each zodiac sign differs according to the latitude and longitude that you were born at.  In the UK, the signs of Leo to Scorpio dominate on the Ascendant, with Virgo and Libra taking nearly three hours to rise each whilst the opposite signs of Pisces and Aries take less than an hour each.  In the southern hemisphere, the reverse is true in that the signs of Pisces and Aries are the most common in Australia and New Zealand.  It could be argued that this is why most Aussie's are seen in the UK as either headbangers (Aries rising) or alcoholics (Pisces rising).  But the opposite is true once again in the UK.  Northern Europeans are either anal (Virgo rising) or indecisive (Libra rising).  The Ascendant, or rising sign ...

Something for the weekend... In the fair city of Bath where I am privileged to live, some naughty naughty people have been breaking the law.  A group of anonymous people have been going around the city at night planting carrots, courgetts, apples and other produce in the local parks and flower beds, and in the hundreds of empty homes there are here.  Geurilla gardening indeed, and obviously I have no idea who's involved. Probably the same people that sewed the planters outside the local police station with an illegal herb.   Go and buy packets of carrot seeds and drop them as you walk.  Free food.  Can you tell it's 5.30 in the morning and I'm only half awake and I'm off to a show?

12th March 2010

The next 72 hours see the build up the the last of a tryptych of new Moons that I believe are paving the way for new beginnings based around a higher form of both individual and global awareness.  This new Moon in three days time is conjunct Uranus, so i anticipate this coming weekend to be full of unpredictable events, some of which may well be truly unusual.  These events could be disruptive, chaotic or pull the rug from underneath your feet - or they could equally bring works like independence, freedom and liberty into your life in a sudden burst of energy!  Don't play too safe this weekend - there are windows of opportunity beginning to form, and if you take them you'll do well.  Sometimes the imperative demanded by the future is that of taking chances, and now is such a time.  Surfboards at the ready, dancing shoes on, Uranus is in town, time to be a little bit crazy....

11th March 2010

Cometh the moment, cometh the man.  Gordon Brown (20 Feb 51, 08.40, Glasgow).  With Pluto sitting on his Midheaven all of this year and Jupiter about to pass over lots of his personal points in the coming two months, I think that he's about to come out fighting in a way not seen before.  There is nothing dishonest about this man, although his dour attitude doesn't endear him.  He has a challenging Sun/Saturn aspect which suggests conscientious hard work and getting younger as he gets older.  He will never leave politics, and will be seen as a grandee or elder statesman as he ages.  David Cameron (9 Oct 66, 06.00, London) currently has Saturn sitting on his Ascendant, and as soon as that leaves in August he then has a year of Saturn sitting on his Sun.  Not good for popularity, his chart bears too much of a resemblance to Thatcher's for my liking.  I suggest his upbringing and particularly parental influence (Ceres on his Midheaven) is a major contributing factor to his doctrine.  I think I'm right in saying that he, his wife and their families 'own' large swathes of land in middle England.  Balanced on the surface, cavalier ...

10th March 2010

Seems like i scared more than a few of you yesterday judging by my email inbox....  look, if it's nice gentle soft and fluffy astrology you want, go elsewhere.  If you want mollycuddling and someone to tell you that he/she will come back and it's not your fault, or that you're going to win the lottery tomorrow or that despite the fact you're obese it's OK to continue eating crap, then go elsewhere.  At the end of the day I realise that I'm out on a limb because of what I do, and believe me I try to be restrained most of the time.  But life's too short for pandering, so what you see is what you get.  Now - to the day's business.  In just under six hours time, at 17.09 UK time, Mars will stand still and begin the tortuous process of moving forward again, although this won't become obvious until the end of the month.  But recent periods of frustration, impotence, anger and exasperation are likely to be shortly changing into more decisive and dynamic forms of expression, and today will be seen as a symbolic turning point.  After today, there will be a clarity and directness ...

9th March 2010

For decades humanity has been dredged through war, religions, drugs, GM and other forms of planetary and personal abuse in a way that degrades our sense of pride in both indivduality and community.  Keeping people divided by seduction and debt has been the tool of the dominators for over 5,000 years, but since the late 70's and the emergence of Thatcherism and Reaganomics this has exponentially escalated to the point of such extremes of inequality and imbalance that the inevitable 'bounce back' must have similar intensity, but probably in a much shorter space of time!  Bankers, footballers, celebrities, politicians are the face of this inequality, and to a lesser extent the arms manufacturers, the drug companies and such like.  I used to see global conspiracies everywhere, from tribes through old families to current global corporations and even AI.  The advent of the internet has given us the speed to communicate, but this has also accelerated our ability to speculate and excessively profit.  The coming astrological configuration over late May through to early August, which I've been waiting for since the early 80's, is nearly here.  And the first signs of this are coming through many client's recent experiences. Despite the ...

8th March 2010

This week much of the big news astrologically is about Mars.  Look overhead two hours after sunset and you'll see Mars, orange-red, resplendent in the night sky.  He is directly affecting people born round the 20th-23rd of their respective month in a way suggesting impatience, volatility and impulsiveness, and anyone with planets at the start of Leo or Aquarius are really knowing it right now.  There's a sense of frustration and impotence mixed with a growing urgency that could easily boil over, and I suggest we're already seeing this in Greece.  Yesterday i did all my written forecasts for April, and the sense of inevitability I picked up suggests that we cannot stop or even slow the course we're on now - something truly mega is brewing, something not seen before in political and economic circles.  And it's only about eleven weeks away.  I'm looking forward to it, it may be messy but it will be brief, and there will be a breakthrough.  There will be an anti-reaction in early August, but within five months it will be done and the seeds of our collective new future will be sown.  May we live in interesting times.....

7th March 2010

What makes a person psychic?  i've met many, many people who claim to be psychic, but more than 99% of them are merely clairaudient, clairvoyent, mediumistic or generally super sensitive.  Indeed, some are definitely intuitive to a high degree.  But few, if any, are psychic.  Psychic means that you can't turn it off, that you know everything all the time, it's a curse as much as if not more than a blessing.  And astrologically it's the interaction between the Moon and the outer planets that denote different levels of sensitivity.  Positive aspects betwen the Moon and Uranus give one a sense of living in a different time zone, precognitive, knowing that things are about to happen or answering questions before they're asked.  Definitely virtual black pointed hat.  Moon Neptune positive contacts really do bring ultra intuitive felings, where the capacity for empathy and sensitivity is at a high.  Moon/Pluto brings the psychic, especially the conjunction or opposition, and you wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy.  And when there's difficult aspects between the Moon and any of the outer planets, things can get messy.  Obsessive/complusive with Pluto, neurotic with Neptune, or choatic and disruptive with Uranus.  So if you want to ...

4th March 2010

Good question from yesterday's blog - when is the moment of birth?  To my mind, it's when the child takes its first individual breath after being born and having the cord cut.  The first breath as an individual - I think it's called prana by the buddhists.  And today - five planets in Pisces, with a strong and emotionally powerful Moon in Scorpio bringing a number of opportunities - today is a good day for feeling, emotion, senistivity and sensuality, instinct and primarily intuition.  It's a day where gut instinct and body impulse are more reliable than the logical and rational mind when it comes to making decisions.  Having said that, those Pisces and Virgos born between the 1st and 6th of March and the 2nd and 7th of September are in a right state, where they could easily overreach, over spend, put on weight or go over the top in a number of different ways.  This is one side of the effects of Jupiter in Pisces at this time.  The other side of the same coin is that the same birthdays can be having a great time, full of optimism, growth, expansion and indulgence - but still, the message ...

3rd March 2010

Once again, a massive heads up and thank you to JC, who's been giving me lots and lots of nice publicity.  I know literally over a hundred people who call themselves astrologers of one type or another, but apart from me (he says arrogantly),  JC is the only one in the UK regularly pushing astrology into the world 24/7.  Respect.  Now - to the day's business.  I've a client today who has no idea of his time of birth.  Without a time of birth, so the theory goes, a reading can only be half as good.  In the last 20/30 years I've developed a system of birth time detection by a process of elimination.  From a person's chart at both the start and end of the relevant day I can see the range of the Moon's movements in that 24 hour period, and work out when certain planets in the sky would have affected it by angle, and thus event.  Initially by ascribing events to a range of years and asking for confirmation of which year, and then narrowing it down to months and even in some cases even weeks, it is possible to get the birth time to ...

EXTRA 10.45 am.  A big, big thank you to Jonathan Cainer, for giving me such a big profile on his home page.  In eight years of blogging I've never actively complimented another astrologer, but of all the 'populist' press sun sign astrologers, he is the only one I would ever countenance or credit with substance.  As he acknowledges, our styles are different but similar, he really does know his stuff.....

08.45 am. I'm constantly reminding clients that astrology doesn't predict as much as suggest and imply, that personal free will is the driving force behind personal development, not some lump of rock or gas in the sky.  But at the same time I marvel.....  Today already I've done two Astrocartography readings.  One was with a very demure, sophisiticated and seemingly delicate elderly English rose for whom her astrocartography strongly suggested that a line from Rangoon to Kuala Lumpur to Singapore to Jakarta was easily the best location for her in terms of both romance and finance.  When I tentatively mentioned this she stunned me by saying that she had lived in all these cities, married there, had her own business and made her money before retiring to the UK ...

1st March 2010

2 am in the morning, what a mad mad day it's been - more than typical full Moon.  All the videos we recorded last week for March needed redoing, so yesterday morning off to the studio again to re-record, then five hours of (other people) doing the techie stuff, only to find that somehow the you tube link isn't synching in.  Finally it's all done, the forecasts for March are up, my sanity is hanging by a thread.  Be gentle with me, especially with the global forecast, it's a bit raw and melodramatic.  More when I've slept.  LATER  I'm looking at you looking at me through my statistics package.  An average of 670 of you look at my site daily - not that many, but twenty percent up on nine months ago.  Just under half of you are in the UK, and over half of them are in London.  CA and NY take it in turns to be the top US state for viewing figures, the only state I regularly don't get hits from is Nebraska.  Australia and Canada take it in turns also, with Melbourne and Toronto being the top cities there.  Makes it easy to plan a world ...
