Someone asked me yesterday about reading sunsigns and reading ascendant signs, and what the difference is. I've done this before a few months ago, so I'll keep this brief - the four most important points in a horoscope are primarily the Sun - your individuality and sense of uniqueness, the Moon - your personality, feelings and emotions, the Ascendant - the armour you put on as you go outside the fornt door, the way you're seen at the day by day level, and the Midheaven - public image, the way you project yourself into the world as being. The planets merely (merely?) denote specific energies (communications, structure, growth, love, sex etc), but the Sun, Moon, Ascendant and Midheaven are the core factors that when added together give an astrological summation of one's sense of self at all levels. Si if you're a Virgo with six planets in Virgo and an unaspected Ascendant in Cancer, then of course look primarily at Virgo's forecasts. But if you've onlly got an unaspected Sun in Virgo, with five planets and the Ascendant in Leo, then obviously the forecast for Leo is going to be as significant as that for Virgo.

OK, but I've always got difficulty with the difference between the Sun - your individuality and the Moon - your personality. Aren't the two inextricably linked? Isn't it the personality that makes you individual from others, or do you mean physical differences?
Half the time I feel like a gemini (ascendant), and half the time I feel piscean (sun). Which horoscope do I read daily?

Todays rant from a bored Pisces/Aries...A deep sigh, my heart goes out to the family and friends of the five soldiers killed yesterday in Afghanistan, and indeed the family and friends of all the other brave soldiers and also not forgetting the locals killed there..I wonder what the lives of the local people are like.....
That breathtakingly beautiful country- war torn and lawless- from what little I know seems to be ruled by medieaval tribal factions... is the answer really invasion by the west- is it really a training ground for the Taliban-or is Pakistan the training ground-who knows....
Anyway on another note- I had the happiest day I had for a long time yesterday- a pub quiz with some people I thought I wouldn't see again (must be Jupiter going direct or something- )- one lady is really funny- her laugh is infectious and I laughed until I cried- the first time I've laughed like that for ages- and yah boo to the disapproving glances- what's the matter with people- and why don't my friends want to go to bonfires-I would like to go to the biggest bonfire night in Britain- in my village where I was brought up- £30.000 worth of fireworks are let off-the earth really does move!!- what more can a person want- just the smell of the smoke, the torchlight parade, in a beautiful archetypal Surrey village - the countryside in that area has a magical quality all of its own....
