6th November 2009

In the forecasts I've been doing recently for clients, which act for me as a mirror on what is going on in the world, I've seen a lot of compressed change over the coming five to ten days.  Go back to May of this year, when if you look I was suggesting that many things were larger than life and over the top.  Now, as the Sun and Mercury square Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune over the coming week, I suspect that a number of big balloons are going to pop and that many people's situations are going to come down to earth with a bump.  If you've been on the receiving end of some over inflated news during the last six months, expect things to rapdily both inflate or deflate (or both!) over the coming week.  For those of you born etwen the 7th and the 11th of your month - this is the last gasp of the old.  Don't buy into the hype and spin of the next few days, it's a metaphorical death gasp.

Thought for today:-( I have stopped sulking over bonfire night!) well I wish that the rich western governments would come down to earth with a bump....In ten days time I am going to a lecture in Oxford arranged by various climate change organisations. The lecture is about an area in Canada known as Tar Sands- an area about the size of Great Britain being used to extract oil-the toxic ponds of which are so large they are even noticeable from space. At the lecture there will be three young women-Cree Indians from indigenous tribes living on the edge of Tar Sands. These peoples are suffering terrifyingly high rates of rare forms of cancer because of this development. Meanwhile BP and Shell are planning to expand their activities in this area. What on earth is the point of the talks in Copenhagen about climate change due to happen shortly, when governments are allowing this sort of activity to happen? The planet is in grave peril, and whilst I recoil from some of the predictions of mass starvation, etc, the fact is it's all going to happen very soon unless we ALL act now. I urge everyone to join their local environmental organisations, write to their MPs, contact Avaaz- before it is to late- maybe just maybe if urgent action is taken now we can secure the planet for our children and grand children. Governments don't seem to understand the extreme urgency of the environmental situation; they seem to be ruled by the oil companies..... As I write I am deeply saddened, and I am thinking of all the damage white man has inflicted and is still inflicting on the Red Indian tribes in the USA and Canada, and the music in my head today is "Soldier Blue" by Buffy Saint Marie-in my opinion the most powerful female singer ever.

Apologies: I have got it wrong- the Tar Sands area is the size of England- still a vast development......

Everyone needs to become aware of the impact the oil whores are doing to our planet...we can never give up the fight.
