11th November 2009

It's a weird one for me, according to my interpretation of today's chart there's a lot of sizzle and pop and noise - but I don't see it in the news, my emails, my personal life or the markets.  But if recent trends are predictable, then the coming week is likely to see oil suddenly boom, or some type of news about oil to dramatically erupt.  The cyce I'm using to guess this also suggests that metallic commodities, whilst stable in the medium term, are going to turn into white elephants within ten years.  The pressure of population and the synchronous acceleration of technology suggests to me that we really are on the brink of some type of fusion which will manifest as (almost) free energy.  It's obvious really - as long as we rely on coal, uranium, oil, all the carbon stuff, instead of the free renewables as in sun, wind and sea, then we're at a cultural and evolutionary dead end.  This will happen a lot faster than we think.  Within ten years 80% of the vehicles on our roads will not be using oil based resources.  Sooner the better.

That's a pretty hefty statement Steve. Particularly considering that your forecast will also have to include all the other things that run on fossil fuels- ships, tractors, buses, trains, oil fired central heating, garden equipment. Either the scrap pile is going to be very big, or a lot of people are going to be busy doing conversions.Better get rid of all those classic cars and motorcycles before the fuel becomes too expensive to run them!

So what you saying Steve..oil will run out in about 10 years. Lets face it, we all know its the oil companies that rule the world, so what happens when they can't hold us to ransom. Even if the energy we will be using is renewable, i'm sure they (who is they??)whoever anyway, will find something to screw us for. I know.....we will have to pay for the air we breath and monitored how many times we flush the loo....and one more thing..you never seem to here much about tesla. Didn't his work involve the idea of free electric for everyone?...well that was swept under the rug...what a corrupt bloody world we live in....thought i'd have a moan...

Hello Steve, I think I wrote to you previously about having met a young Iraqi man in a US airport this summer who told me he had been help hostage in a one-meter-square cell the prior year. When I asked him his heart's desire if he could have anything he wanted, he replied he wanted through science to develop technology so "governments would not be based on petroleum." Given a goal like this from a very bright young man with the greatest determination possible based on what he has endured "in the name of petroleum," what you suggest seems entirely plausible. This young man may only be one of many with the same vision.

Dear steve, nice to see you doing the jc stuff. Interesting slant -what does a casting director do exactly ??? About the serious squares: I've been watching the news I think its all going to be triggered when the moon goes conjunct with saturn in libra later - and mercury's been involved in some serious aspects as well best regards.
