Sure enough, I got into trouble with yesterday's post. I've published the sane and amusing comments, ignored and deleted the rabid and the religious. Seeing as I've already upset 10% of you, let's go for broke. Another way of looking at Jupiter and Neptune together in Aquarius, the sign of communitty and humanity, is to suggest that this is one of the very last hurrahs of orthodox religion, that God has left the churches, synagogues and mosques and has reinvented his or herself through direct communion with individuals. When their weren't many people on planet, we needed to congregate and have people minister to our spiritual needs. But now, the idea of having priests of one type or another saying that 'you can only talk to God through me' makes me want to lose my lunch. Time to close the churches etc and reopen them as community centres. Time for each and everyone of us to have our own relationship with the Divine, however we see it as being, and stop this ridiculous kowtowing to populist religion. I suppose it's the difference between those who can think for themselves and those who need others to tell them what to believe (sheep), but be sure that in coming years religion will become only the domain of the fundamentalists and sensible people will smile at each other and try to get on, regardless of personal theology or belief.

We had a sheep and her triplets, and there was no-one to tell her how to be the protective and loving mother that she was. But it was food that was always on their minds, that is what leads 'sheep', you could call it greed perhaps.

Steve, you are a man after my own heart! I read recently, I cant remember who said it, so forgive me, its not plagiarism... 'people are leaving the churches in droves, and returning to god' Dont you love it?
God made us in his own image, we are gods! I have a profound belief in life, my god is mother nature, my faith is community.

Definitely a black sheep here, maybe even a wolf! I've always asked myself why the Church of England and the RC's have so much wealth. It seems that many religions rely on their faithful flock for funds to feather their own nests. Time to get rid of them all, sell off their property and spread the proceeds amongst the genuinely needy. Great comments Steve

Don't be unfair to sheep. Just because they aren't human doesn't mean they don't think for themselves. They just don't do it the way we do. Because they're sheep.
Many bleatings!

Separate spirituality from religion - the first just 'is', and doesn't belong to anybody, it's there for all to access. The second is man-made, and that's why it's corrupt. What's not needed should simply fall away. It's us who cling to this set of beliefs that is rooted in fear, guilt, and conditional love. I am responsible for being a caring, loving, fair, just, human being, responsible for my words and actions/inactions. The church does not own goodness.
Love to you all.

Drugs, money, politics, religion, war. Maybe not always in that order but often linked! Ho hum.
Hence Afghanistan, where our presence is linked to drugs and oil (surely not!)and the rest of it. Did you know that here is a shortage of medical drugs based on the poppies grown there (possibly!). Why not get the Taliban to grow the stuff for us and pay them market rate for all their crop? Ther shouldn't then be a problem with the security of the fields that way - they seem to be quite effective at fighting there. We get the drugs, they get their cash and the drugs stay off the streets. Everybody happy.
No, of course not, that would not serve the bigger picture of government!
As religion begins to lose its control over the masses, politics and science nimbly takes its place. The sheep are kept flocking. Silly flockers! :)

Well i think your right Steve. Its about bloody time all religion was banned and people made to think for themselves and make their own mind up about life. Brainwashed lot!! It's my opinion and i don't care if it offends!

I agree completely. I don't want someone telling me how to believe. It never fits with the belief deep inside me. I've heard it called being spiritual instead of religious.

The difference between the Path of Mastery and the Path of Faith. Me? I choose, or was chosen by, the Path of Mastery many, many, many years ago.
Been laughing my head off over your last few posts!! :-D

Your view that we do not need intermediaries is shared by native American shamans I have studied with. They believe that during the time we were going through the darker areas of the zodiac, we needed those intermediaries, rituals and tools to connect with the divine. As we move further into the light, we can make these connections ourselves without the need of middle men or medicinals.

Amen to that, Steve!! Organised religion undoes the very principle it was founded to facilitate: if you believe in something/one and feel the need to commune/communicate with it/them, it should be on your own terms, not as some organisation dictates is "the right way"...congregation for worship seems to be more about glorifying the institution of mass religion than about spiritual advancement on the personal level! If it harm none, please yourself; therein lies true personal contentment-do what feels right to you.
