So far much of December has had a kind of electrical haze about it, rendering many people's creative energetic potential down in size and bringing a degree of inertia. Over the coming week, there's a Mercury station in readiness for it going retrograde, Mars going retrograde on the 20th, Jupiter conjuncts Neptune for the final time till 2022 on the 21st and it's new Moon tomorrow strongly square Uranus. I suggest that today/tomorrow onwards is the start of a concentrated period of compressed change that summates between solstice and christmas and then goes into hiatus until the early new year. And that this week long period summarises much of both the unpredictable change and the sticky confusion of 2009, and that before the end of December there will be clarity. Whether you/we like it or not is a moot point, but by new year the psychic air waves will be a lot less polluted and decisions will be easier, one way or another. Get your dancing shoes on, the tides are changing and the surfers are coming out to play...

The worst thing that's going to happen in 2012 is the London Olympics. Endless traffic jams, enless 'olympic pizza' and 'olympic burger' adverts and Sue Barker in my tele not-stop for a month.
Agree with the global warming stuff as a natural occuring thing - you need to read up on the 'Orange Peel' affect.
BTW - why dont you go for a metal xmas tree? I have one - looks good and has multipal uses - obviously i use it as a xmas tree at chritmas by hanging lights and tinsel and stuff on it. And in the summer, i use it as a washing line in the garden - placed correctly, upto 6 pairs of underpants can be dryed at one time.I think that's called 'eco-living'.

Thoughts on a 21st century Christmas! Just returned from a spell of Christmas shopping.
Oh dear, firstly went to a commercialised card shop- it would have been fine, but the cacophany of the tinny sentimental Christmas music made me just want to leave immediately. Then went to another big chain store- which I am told is Israeli backed,so in my mind I am hearing the whistling of bombs falling on Palestinian refugee camps. So I escape having wanted to go up to fellow customers and ask them if they would like to read Rogue State... Grrrr my mood darkens, in that same shop I hear a conversation about people going skiing- I think "better enjoy it while you can as there wont be any snow covered slopes soon..."I then read a newspaper headline in that shop- "Global Warming is natural" it shouts- is that***** newspaper owned by BP or Shell I mutter darkly. At this point I am so cross that I want to go on a protest. The roofs of the Houses of parliament would do well.I venture into another big music store- good, some music (chart stuff and very good whatever it is), I start jigging about- people are looking must stop- why can't people behave like on my favourite Liverpool street station music video and all start dancing? Undeterred I venture to another supermarket to buy some economy blueberries- can't afford the organic ones- I suppose the idea is that they are marketed as a superhealthy food- but in reality are so sprayed with chemicals that the badly off people buying them will become even more unhealthy anyway!
Fed up I retreat to the sanctuary of my home, the one purchase I have this Christmas my beloved Norway Spruce- filling the house with a delicate magical spell-and I meet my daughter- my spirits are restored.

Whoever wrote the above comment needs to lighten up. Global warming is a normal phenomenon that has been around for millenia, before mankind came along, and will go on without us. I can sympathise that Christmas is commercialised, but please spare us the hand wringing conscience of yet another Guardian reader and get a life or get off this planet!! You do have a choice. Happy Christmas!

Well as much as everyone has an opinion on who or what is causing global warming (maybe we'll never know the truth)the only thing that i cannot get out of my head at the moment is 2012. Steve you may have mentioned it before but mention it again please. What's your take on 2012....different stories off different astrologers, who to believe?? Is the recession going to get worse and then something more dreadful is going to happen in 2012. Is it all down hill from here. I'm sure whatever happens 'it is wonderful for our spiritual growth' but when the bills need paying spiritual growth is the last thing i'm thinking about. OK, now i'm rambling and I think my mind is now working overtime.....

About that spiral over Norway. I hope it means that disclosure is near. I've tried to imagine what it will be like So move over so I can sit on the curb with you and observe and maybe dance our way into 2010. I've learned so much in 2009 I'm so grateful for your blog.Communication is the key here we're talking even though I'm in Georgia and your in England it's a gift and I'm grateful for being here at this time. It's magical and 2012 will come but right now is what matters. Listen to Alex Collier on Project Camelot Awake and Aware. If we all start taking care of each other by mentoring what we know it helps so much. Then we feel empowered to help another and another. So please go to youtube and listen to Project Camelot there is so much information that will guide you and answer questions but you have to do it for yourself. That is what it's all about.
In Spirit,
T

Ummm, ny Norway Spruce has roots, and I haven't read the Guardian for years. As for the comment "get a life or get off this planet",I don't know how anyone can make such an unkind comment to another-particularly at this time of the year- no wonder the world is in the state it is.

To the one who wrote "On a 21st century Christmas"....
I'm sorry you felt so bad!
Having been born and bred in Central London -I know how you feel (one of my earliest memories is having got lost in
the Christmas rush on Oxford St.!)
It was some of that emptiness and soullessness that pushed me -as a Jew-to emigrate 33 years ago to that 'Rogue State' you mention -yes, Israel!
Forgive me -but maybe things aren't quite as you perceive them -from what seems like very limited reading......
I invite you to join me and countless other Jewish and Arab women here (-or Palestinian/Israeli in politicalspeak)-at least in spirit- who are working as hard as we can to build bridges and trust -in the spirit of 'Sulha' (forgiveness and cooperation) across the whole spectrum of political, cultural, social, religious divides...
It ain't easy ...in this rather 'unholy' mess ! -But, it IS happening!
It takes hard work, believe me -but with an open heart, and strong will, -so much is possible!
May we all be blessed, wherever we are --at this time of year -and always- to open our hearts and work towards good....
"Those who can...DO
Those who can't....teach "!
(George Bernard Shaw)
With much love to all,
Judith, in Jerusalem
P.S I don't know of any chain stores in London that are actually 'backed by Israel'.....!
