13th January 2010

Bar Mars and Saturn, every planet in the heavens is close to the Sun.  The Sun, Venus and north node are together, as are Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune, and as are Mercury, the Moon and Pluto.  Three triple conjunctions, the day before an eclipse.  Monumentous times, from my astrological perspective, I feel as though I'm right in the middle of the alchemist's crucible and anything is possible.  And it's still Mercury retrograde, I feel as though no matter what I do I can't get anything like as much done as I want to.  I feel right on the inside edge of an opaque bubble, as though I'm about to burst through into  - what?  I'm excited, exhilarated, scared.  I'm anticipatory, expectant and hopeful.  And still the snow falls - five/six inches in the last twenty hours.  I love this winter, it's a proper one.  I email people in Melbourne and Adelaide, where it is seriously, seriously hot, and I'm not jealous at all.  Most of all I love the cyclical rhythm of nature, and I love this planet.  Everything always comes around.  And - if and when you can, spare a thought and even a candle for Haiti, suffering for so long in so many different ways...

Your thoughts on a 'proper winter' are much appreciated. I thought I was the only person left who valued it for what it is! And there are exciting times coming, as you so rightly point out. Let's make the most of them.

thats it in a nutshell how i feel at the moment in a bubble waiting for it to burst so that i can move forward. Had 3 false starts to try and get through some pre-employment checks before I can actually begin my new job. Just had another appointment cancelled due weather this afternoon - so will not be starting new job tomorrow afterall. so now have my appointment tomorrow and may possibly be able to start job Friday or may be now it will be on Monday. Actually not that fussed one way or the other.....

My thought for the day -I love proper winters too- there is something magical about the sudden peace that happens when snow falls- suddenly birdsong predominates- the usual background noise of traffic is extinguished...nature shows us who is really in charge- However I do think of all the people struggling to carry out essential duties- hospital workers, shop workers- anyone who helps to keep Britain moving. The seasons- yes I love them too- but make the most of them- if carbon emissions aren't reduced drastically by world governments very shortly, we will see only two seasons in Britain- winter and summer- and the winters will last for a lot longer than usual. Haiti- poor people,I will light a candle for them this evening-.A Canadian astrologer has been warning of earthquakes for the last week- and in that time there has been one in California and now Haiti.Let's hope there's no more... China- hey total respect to Google- I am delighted that they are taking the decision to pull out of China because of the continued censorship of human rights activists. It is astonishing to see a powerful organisation like this stand up for principles. If only more people/organisations were like this. The attitide of the Chinese government is currently making me very annoyed -it was apparently them that were paramount in blocking any proper climate deal in Copenhagen. They are becoming to powerful. Yes, I too am really positive about this years astrological landscape- but also very wary about the future of the planet-plundered and despoiled- what future will our children have? My motto is as always- "the wild will win in the end"-Jack London

Hi Steve and readers: as Steve and other equally brilliant astrologers will tell you, the point of doing astrology is not to show off by making accurate prognostications/predictions. It is rather to show people the opportunities for personal growth which, if not taken, alas, can result in untoward events in their lives that force them to make the changes they are unwilling to make through surrendering to their ''process.'' Or whatever. This being said, I wanted to share this from an e-mail I sent to my brother on January 9th: ''Remember that this coming week brings seismic shifts...'' (And it ain't over, but that's another story...)

To the above, I assume this is a comment about my blog re astrologers/earthquakes.I merely mentioned something I'd read.Who said anything about showing off with predictions? Steve is extremely accurate in his predictions,(the reading I had was uncanny in its accuracy) and I am sure that the readers of this blog are acutely aware that they have to work with the prevailing astrological tides rather than sitting there waiting for someone to wave a magic wand over their lives! After all this is a site for the intelligent and discerning human being.......
