3rd February 2010

Mish mash today...  Extension to one of yesterday's comments - when dealing in any way with others, you are responsible for your actions, you are not responsible for other people's reactions.  And once the dreaded word 'should' (as in ' you should...) enters the equation, it's time to leave.  And for UK readers - didn't Clare Short do well yesterday?  Obviously deranged and bitter - after all, she accused Tony Blair of lying before an official panel of inquiry!  Surely, that can't be true?  Seriously though, what a shame that Blair, with such high aspirations, should only be remembered for being a lickspittle to his American masters.  All that Gemini in his chart, never realising (to quote another contributor from yesterday) that whilst the grass is always greener on the other side, it still needs regular mowing.  At least with Thatcher we knew what we were dealing with.  And today?  With a lovely Moon in Libra working very well with a number of planets, today is a good day for compromising in a way that ensures everyone gets something and no-one is unhappy.

Hi Steve, Congratulations! Eight years! Wow!!! Always an interesting part of my day reading your blog along with my Emails and my bank balance on the Internet. Knowledge and wisdom, lots of one and plenty of the other does make it all interesting reading. What an interesting range of contributers you have. They do have some real nuggets of interest as well. Happy blogging through your ninth year.

Hi Steve happy 8th birthday. I must have been reading right from the start - and have always enjoyed reading your blog to see what the day's going to bring or something to think on during the day - I personally always found it a bit of sanity in the mad world of working for a living...

Hi Steve. All your unhappy people need to understand that EVERYONE they meet, whether they are 1 minute old or 100 years old, is fighting some sort of battle. Life is a series of lessons with some victories interspersed. It's really easier to put on a smile and make the ride fun for everyone around you.

When I was suffering tremendous personal pain I needed kindness and understanding, from people, not smug rhetoric. We SHOULD be helping unhappy people, not discarding them and leaving them to rot in some sort of "Dirt room"- sorry listening to the brilliant music of Blue October- or are they no more than superfluous musicians- dunno, but what I do know is this-that I am always going to help those around me who are unhappy- what kind of a life is it ... (oh the smugness of the discreet happyeoisie- Im happy mate never mind about you....)when we can't help our fellow humans. From a very angry Pisces- and PS Whoever talked about Imbolc yesterday please tell us more I am really interested.

Yes, congratulations indeed on entering your 9th year of blogging. Suprised no-one hasn't mentioned the yin-yang principle - you can't have light without dark as they both make up the whole. Peronsally, I've always used my dark moments to go digging into my psyche - it's hardly the thing I would invest my happy moments in - as you are literally in the moment.

It's truly not a question of smugness. Please remember that 'all' of us go through rough tough times, times of not knowing when 'it' will end or if the sun will ever shine again. There is hope. Some of us have made it - have turned our lives around. When I was down in the depths everybody happy annoyed me. Then through NLP and Procovative Changeworks I discovered that my attitude was my own worst enemy - and I resented that thought so much, thought how smug everyone using that mantra was. These work so fast you won't believe it. Now I know that it's true. It's not what life throws at you, it's how you react to it, how you speak to yourself on the inside. Listen to yourself for a whole day. I was shocked at the awful negative things I was saying to myself, thinking. Look on the internet, choose carefully. That's assuming that you don't want to go down the drugs route, or have tried it and it hasn't worked. Try what appeals to you. And lots of love to one and all.
