I've been getting dragged into politics recently, so back to astrology. When Pluto entered Scorpio in 1983, we said it would be the beginning/end of nuclear war. It was the end, but Pluto in Scorpio brought us HIV and an opening up sexually worldwide. Pluto in Sagittarius we said would be the end of organised religion, and we got fundamentalism as the precursor to this. We (astrologers) said that Pluto in Capricorn would bring world government and now, ten percent of the way through its journey, we've got political upheaval and transformation taking place almost daily. I can't help but have an anglophile perspective, although I try to give a global vision astrologically. But the chart for England (not UK, but England) that I use is set for midday on 25th December 1066, putting Pluto on top of England's Sun for the first time since 1763, when the natives and immigrants of the British colony of North America were beginning to get a bit restless. The UK has one per cent of the worlds population, but twenty five percent of the world's CCTV cameras. Why? Because this country is not only the perpetrator of all the old sins that still continue in the English speaking world, but is also the strongest place in the world for the continuation of the old, high magic that still exists. We invented civil war, punk rock and decapitation for kings who pushed the people too hard. And Pluto on our Sun is changing England and the UK in a way that is the forerunner for the rest of the world. Expect major constitutional changes over the coming year or two, regardless of who is in power, and in the short term a great deal more exposure and uncovering of many secrets and lies of recent years. And the UK is ahead of the curve. All those countries that came into being on January 1 will have Pluto on top of their Sun in 2012 - should be interesting.

Astrology- I read that the next new moon is one of the most powerful all year- comments on this please Steve?
A report saying that the very first white people to land on the east coast of the United States- were initially given a friendly welcome by the local native Americans- has made me tearful. They didnt become at all warlike until the settlers started to declare territorial rights over the land. I still can't stop thinking of the film I saw recently- Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee...it just about says it all...but how sad that at first they tried to be kind to these newcomers.....

Carrying on the disussion about racism yeterday- I understand that native american peoples in the United States are still being heavily oppressed today- I have been reading that racist attitudes towards them is still the norm. How can such a beautiful proud people be treated like this?
I leave with this thought:( found on a native American website- where they are trying to promote recycling)
Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been polluted,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Only then will you discover that money cannot be eaten.....

Many years ago I read an interview of a Native American Chief. One comment he made stayed with me: "What the white man doesn't understand, he wants to control or destroy."
