Here's a subject I don't like to talk about but can't ignore.  The impending population crisis, conveniently ignored by politicians and environmentalists, corporates and churches - there are too many people on planet for our current lifestyles to be sustained.  When a virus overwhelms its host, one of two things happen.  Either both the host and the virus die, or the virus mutates from single into multi cellular oganisms, requiring less room and food.  I still believe in the prociess of accelerated evolution, it seems to me that we collectively are on an unstoppable course towards an unavoidable point of destiny that will change things for ever.  I don't like to think of large scale death, but an increasingly common phrase I keep hearing is that at any time we in the western world are only nine meals from anarchy.  If the supply chain breaks down, it will be those on medication who will suffer first, so the lesson here is get yourself off of the drugs , eat well, exercise and get fit.  Our system of life is so stuck in a rut of excess and profit driven motive that I can't conceive of a bright future for us all without there also being a 'shudder' that precedes it, weeding and pruning the race so that the young and the healthy survive.  A virus will mutate when it reaches ten to the power of ten - ten billion.  We are currently at ten to the power of nine point seven - seven billion, well within the parameters for change.  This is the time of both our and our ancestors' lives, when answers and realisations are forthcoming and when the future is written for the long term.  But the outcome is still negotiable, and from an astrological perspective the coming three years will set the timetable for the long term future.  Yes, I'm an accelerationist, but we need visions of the future as beacons of hope, and I can truly see a future based on empathy, compassion and solidarity for my kids and grandkids.  But first we've got to get rid of greed, and the best to do that way is to eliminate money.  These are the times that our ancestors have dreamt of - don't we own it to our past and our future to do the best for both us and the planet we share with?  Because if we don't, what type of future will it be?

YES!!! I could not agree more,I think it's time the money lenders were thrown from the temple for good and all.We shall no doubt all feel a little pain before the levelling and then the sun may truly shine.

Excellent comments Steve. Re population growth: to my knowledge, somewhere in the 1980's leaders, academics, futurists, et al stopped talking about population growth. I have not met anyone who knows why, do you ? Are there people discussing this topic again ? Where ? Greed, it was good to hear the word out in the open. It is the common denominator of what is commonly considered a successful person in the western if not the entire world. The native peoples of North America have it right, some day the world will be turning to their ethic of support of and contribution to the tribe / group / society as the cornerstone of success. A look back into human history would likely tell us that this change in culture will come only after a truly painful and extraordinary set of events in human interaction. Regards, again excellent comments, another steve. PS: what is an accelerationist ?
